The Channelview ISD Board of Trustees honored the April Students of the Month, the Channelview FFA Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Winners, Elementary Odyssey of the Mind students, the Channelview High School Band Solo and Ensemble winners, CHS Academic Team winners, CATCH Coordinator Alva Brown on her individual award and the CISD Fine Arts Department for receiving the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Super Show and Hall of Fame Awards.

FCCLA State Qualifiers

Channelview High School Family Community and Career Leaders of America team members advanced to state after qualifying at the Regional event. The Board recognized them for their efforts.
 
Odyssey of the Mind State Competitors

Several of the members of the Odyssey of the Minds teams from Cobb, Crenshaw and Harvey Brown Elementary schools were honored by the Board for advancing to state competition. The students are pictured with the coaches from their campuses.
 
Falcon Band honored

Channelview High School's Falcon Band has 56 members that have advanced to the UIL state solo and ensemble contest in May. Accepting an award in their behalf is Band Director Aaron Allison and Assistant Band Director Jeri Collins.

Alva Brown, CATCH program coordinator at Alice Johnson Junior High, was awarded for receiving her CATCH certification for middle school students. The CATCH program promotes wellness and healthy lifestyles among students through a variety of activities.

The Channelview Fine Arts Department and Programs earned the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's Super Show and Hall of Fame Awards for excellence and continued participation and support in the Rodeo Art Program. Accepting the honors are Fine Arts Director Ken Wright and Fine Arts Administrative Assistant Brenda Cutler.
