    Teaching Experience:


    1977-78:   The Wilson School. Mountain Lakes, New Jersey;

                    grades 1-6, supplemental department for children

                    with learning disabilities.


    1979-83:   Friendship Central School, Friendship, New York;

                    primary responsibility for the first two years was

    for juniors and seniors who had failed the state’s reading and/or writing assessments.  100% passed the retest.  The last two years were spent teaching

    junior and senior English classes and coordinating the reading curriculum for grades K-8.


    1983-85:   Watkins Glen High School. Watkins Glen, New York:

    Sophomore English and Senior English (thesis writing

                    block of Senior English trimester program that

                    included a survey of British literature, an in-depth

                    study of one Shakespearean comedy and one drama,

                    as well as an independent and original research



    1996-98:   Hargrave High School, Huffman, Texas:  STAR

                   program for high school students at risk of not

                   graduating with their cohort.  I taught all levels of

                   high school English and Social Studies courses with

                   the exception of economics.  I also facilitated the

                   completion of thirty-two electives.  During this time

                   we had a 100% success rate – all students who

                   stayed in the program graduated with their cohort.


    2000-08:   Alice Johnson Junior High School, Channelview,

                   Texas.  During the course of my years at Alice

                   Johnson I taught all levels (regular, advanced, and

                   PreAP) of 8th. Grade reading, English, and ELA.


    Present:     Channelview High School, Channelview, Texas.

                   I have taught grade 11 English, both regular and

                   AP English Language and Composition for 7 years, 

                   grade 10 English, both regular and PreAP for 2 years

                   and am currently in my third year teaching grade 9 

                   English, again both regular and PreAP.  I am also the 

                   PreAP English I team lead and the department chair.
