National Hispanic Program Scholar
Channelview High School's Christopher Diaz was recently named a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar by the College Board. Christopher earned this honor by scoring among the top 2.5 percent among all Hispanic and Latino test-takers in the Southeast Texas region. He was presented with a certificate by Board President Greg Johnstone.
The Board of Trustees honored the Channelview Falcon Boys Basketball team for another great season, as they advanced to the playoffs and finished the year as Area Finalists. This is the third year in a row that the Channelview has advanced to the postseason.
Channelview Stars Robotics Team demonstration
The Channelview Stars Robotics Team was recognized by the Board for completing its first year of competition on an impressive note by finishing sixth out of 60 teams at the FIRST LEGO League Regional event in Katy. The team also conducted a demonstration for Board members to show how the robots were programmed and how they performed around an obstacle course. The team is made up of students from Cobb and Schochler Elementary schools.
