    Career and Technical Education

    Career and technical education programs offer a sequence of courses that provides students with coherent and rigorous content. CTE content is aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in current or emerging professions.

    Channelview ISD offers Career and Technical Education programs in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, Arts, Architecture & Construction, Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications, Business Marketing and Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, Education and Training, Health Science, Human Services, Information Technology, Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security, Marketing, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics. Admission to these programs is based on open enrollment.

    CTE Courses and Guidance:

    The online professional development courses (https://www.texascourses.org/) that are part of the Texas Gateway are in the midst of being updated. Courses do not produce a final certificate. For your convenience, some required courses are linked below.

    CTE Programs of Study 

    The Division of College, Career, and Military Preparation has engaged members of the workforce, secondary education, and higher education to advise on the development of programs of study, including coherent sequences of courses, industry-based certifications, and work-based learning to ensure students are prepared for in-demand, high-skill, and high-wage careers in Texas.
