My name is Deidre Charles, and I am excited to be a Barrett-Lee Early Childhood Center Blue Jay!!  I am from Houston and received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Health from the University of Houston.  While this is my first year teaching, I have worked as a paraprofessional in Humble ISD for the past three years and worked in education since 2005. 

I am truly excited about working with our youngest learners!!  Helping each child progress in all areas of their development—academic, social, language, and motor—is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily.  I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, fun environment. 

Personally, I am the mother of three amazing sons ages 21,19, and 9 years old. My oldest attends University of Houston-Downtown, my middle son attends Langston University in Oklahoma and my youngest is a fourth grade student in Galena Park ISD.
