    All Art Students will learn to Percieve, Create Express, Learn Cultural heritage and learn to evaluate Art Work as outlined by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skils.  Engaging in learning will take place through the use of projects, technology and witing/reading materials.  Modifications will take place as needed.
    Things to Learn:
    Students will learn the Aesthetics/beauty of Art
    Students will learn the Elements of Art and Principals of Art/Design
    Students will learn to Critique Artwork by questioning
    Students will share their knowledge of Art through Self-Evaluation that informs their Artistic endeavors.
    Students will make different projects throughout the school, year including drawings, paintings, and sculptures.  Students will participate in competitions like Houston Livestock Rodeo District Show, Visual Artistic Scholastic Event, Fire Prevention Poster contest, Society for the Performing Arts.

    Students will learn to evaluate Artwork by learning to Critique
    Answering the following: Description, Analysis, Interpretation, and Judgment
    Description-Credit Line- Who, what, where, when and medium used
    Analysis what is the style of the work?
    Interpretation How was the Artist influenced by the world in which he/she lived and worked?
    Judgment Why is this work of art important in Art History?
    Procedures and Expectaions:
    (enter the classroom, sharpen pencils, and have materials needed.  Sit at your asigned seat and look on the board for your bell work and begin your assignment quietly)

    -Be Respectful at all times.

    -Follow all teacher directions.
    -Follow the student handbook at all times.

    Elements and Principals of art and design
    Pencil Shading: value scale, gradual value bar, sphere/cube ribbon, eye-shading Expressive line drawing
    Color theory:  Warm/colors, complementary, analogous, value/hue/tints
    Composition: Rule of thirds, focal point
    Contour line; Blind and contour

    Positive Rewards:
    -The best of the Best Art Students will have the opportunity to participate in Art Shows, art Contest, field Trips.  Renaissance contest, Holiday Card contest,  Society for the Performing Arts Contest, Visual Scholastic Artist Event (Field Trip).  The rewards include: certificates, coupons, ribbons, scholarships medals and monetary.
    -The top Artist is awarded a Medal at the end of the school year.
    Negative Consequences:
    -Talk to students about behavior
    -Contact Guardian
    -30minute detention
    -Discipline referral
