Hamblen Behavior Expectations

C.H.A.M.P.S.

This year Hamblen Elementary is adding the C.H.A.M.P.S. framework to our behavior expectations matrix and classroom expectations.

C.H.A.M.P.S. is simply a way of framing expectations so that the students are always aware of what is expected of them. The letters stand for:

C- Conversation- Who can the student talk to? What level voice can the student use?

H- Help- How can the child get help if they need it? (can they work together, do they raise their hand for help...)

A- Action/Activity-- What should the children be doing? What activity should they be engaged in?

M-Movement-  How can the child move around the area? (should they stay seated, stay in a certain area...)

P- Participation- What does participation in this activity look like?

S- Success-- What should be accomplished at the end of this activity?
