Hamblen Elementary hosts first annual Polar Express Night

Hamblen Elementary School Hosted its first annual Polar Express Night. It was an evening filled with food, fun activities, and joyous times by students and their families.
Teachers and staff at Hamblen began preparations by putting up decorations inside and outside the school a week in advance in anticipation of this night. Through the main halls, there were Polar Express themed decorations, and the outdoor atrium was lit with many colorful lights and Christmas trees.
Students participated in instructional activities such as learning to make snow, make your own hot cocoa, creating popsicle stick ornaments, and writing letters to Santa. As a part of the stations of activities that were set up around the school, pizza and hot cocoa were served to parents and students for a quick snack. At the end of the Polar Express stops, the students came to the last station to receive a jean pass as a surprise reward for their participation.
Twelve lucky students who won the Golden Ticket had the opportunity to choose between a copy of the Polar Express book or movie. Principal Lopez said, “We are so glad about the AMAZING turn out we had of students and their families, and it truly was a magical night!”
