It’s with a heavy heart that we bring disappointing news. We were recently made aware by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that dozens of food distributions in the state of Texas have been canceled. The USDA has informed us the cancellation is due to their food distributors being overbooked.
There were more than 18 food distribution sites in the state, including ours, none will be receiving any food to deliver to their local communities this month.
We are told there is a chance these food distributions can be brought back to our community at a later date, but there is no guarantee. If that occurs, we will make you aware immediately.
Please know we share your frustration regarding this disheartening situation. We will always make every effort to help our community during challenging times. We plan to continue our partnership with Save-The-Children and USDA’s Farmers to Families program. Although, we hope that an issue such as this does not occur again with the United States Department of Agriculture.
Lastly, I would like to thank you for your understanding in this matter. Again, we will make you all aware if the situation changes and the food suppliers are able to deliver the meals to our community.
