Channelview ISD Welcomes New Director of Secondary Multilingual

Claudia Chavez-Pinto has been selected as the new Director of Secondary Multilingual for Channelview ISD.

Chavez-Pinto has been working in education for the past 20 years. She has served as an elementary and middle school principal. As a campus principal, her campus became a fine arts magnet school and received several TEA distinctions designations during her leadership. In addition, her campus went from an F grade (according to TEA) to a B grade during the first two years under her guidance. Her campus was also able to obtain all 10 points for accountability on TELPAS Growth with an emergent bilingual population of over 1,300 students.

“I am excited to join such a talented and diverse educational team who exhibits not only a passion for student learning and success, but also action driven and oriented to make it happen,” said Ms. Pinto. “You can expect for me to be an instructional leader who will collaborate with all stakeholders to provide the necessary support to enhance language development, acquisition, and student learning for all secondary emergent bilinguals as evident in student data.”
