A Bit More About Me

I began my journey at Channelview ISD in August 2023. As Character Counts and AVID

teacher and student council advisor, I empower students to grow academically, ethically,

and as responsible leaders. In Character Counts, I guide students in developing core

values—trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and

citizenship—instilling a strong moral foundation that supports positive choices and

actions. Through AVID, I equip students with essential skills like organization, note-

taking, and critical thinking, preparing them for college and beyond. As a student council

advisor, I mentor young leaders in planning school events, making impactful decisions,

and serving their community, fostering a spirit of teamwork, responsibility, and initiative.

My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where every student can

thrive, achieve their potential, and contribute meaningfully to our school and community.

I attended San Jacinto College to obtain my Associate degree in Social and Behavioral

Sciences. I then transferred to Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas to obtain a

Bachelor of Science in Sociology degree. Recently I re-enrolled at Lamar University and

I am currently working on obtaining a Master’s in Education with a School Counseling

certification. I have been married to a wonderful husband for 28 years and I am the mother of 3

beautiful and perfect young men. We love to spend time together, travel together, watch

movies and go to Astros games. My hobbies are crafting and working with graphic

design. I also absolutely love the beach and shopping. Fun fact: I recently found out I

love skydiving. I love my life and look for every opportunity to spread kindness, smiles

and positivity.
