Troy Michaud

Principal

Greetings Harvey Brown community,

I am honored and privileged to serve as the principal of Harvey Brown Elementary School. As we embark on our children’s educational journey together, it is my mission to promote and support extraordinary learners in reaching their dreams and goals.  It is also my belief that student success and growth are achievable through a combination of academics, character building, and parental support.

I was raised in the small town of Lander, Wyoming with frontier values of self-reliance, independence, and perseverance.  I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and a Masters Degree from Concordia University Texas in Austin.  I credit my educational pathway to my wonderful wife, who has been my rock and support along the way.  She is also a dedicated educator and mother to our twins.

My educational career began in the Channelview community in 2001 teaching physics and chemistry at Channelview High School.  I have also served as a science teacher at our Endeavor campus, a secondary science instructional specialist, and an assistant principal at Channelview High School and Anthony Aguirre Junior High.  In 2018, I was extremely honored to continue to serve our Channelview community when I became principal of Harvey Brown Elementary.

If I can be of any assistance to support your child in their endeavors please feel free to contact me at 281-860-1400.

Assistant Principal

Hello Bobcat Family,

It is with great humility and enthusiasm that I return to Harvey Brown Elementary to serve as your Assistant Principal. This opportunity is both an honor and a responsibility I deeply cherish. My commitment is to collaborate closely with students, families, and staff to address the unique needs of every learner at our school.

I firmly believe that all children possess the ability to learn and thrive when provided with tailored instruction that meets them where they are. By fostering an innovative and engaging learning environment, we can empower our students to reach their fullest potential. My goal is to ensure that upon leaving Harvey Brown, our students are not only academically prepared but also socially, emotionally, and physically nurtured to become well-rounded individuals.

With 19 years in education in Channelview and Dayton, my passion lies in building the capacity of others and embracing lifelong learning. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Corrections from Sam Houston State University, a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Principal Certification from Lamar University. My academic journey culminated with a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Abilene Christian University. Additionally, I possess multiple certifications and have served children in an array of capacities across various educational levels.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am a proud mother of two adult children and have been blessed with the unwavering support of my husband of 30 years, who remains my greatest cheerleader. In my spare time, I am a active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Should you need any assistance or have questions, please know that I am always just a phone call away.

Warm regards,

Dr. Sonya Woodfork
