Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)

A 3-day weekend camp for high school students (9th-11th grade) to strengthen leadership skills through problem-solving, physical/mental/emotional challenges, and interactions with other outstanding students, camp counselors, and motivational speakers. Organized by Rotary 5890 RYLA Committee.

  • $300 cost covered by our sponsoring North Shore Rotary Club

  • Students must have their own transportation to and from the camp (Huntsville, TX)

  • Camp counselors consist of former RYLA Campers, Rotoractors, Interact Teacher Advisors, or Rotarians

4-Way Test Scholarship

For ACTIVE 12th-grade CHS Interact members who are college, trade, or vocational school bound. Students must submit their completed essay addressing the 4-Way Test as an electronic Word document with their signed cover sheet to their HS Interact Club Sponsor. These are submitted to the District 5890 Committee who award the scholarship. Recipients are announced at the District 5890 Conference.

  • 1st Place: $3,000

  • 2nd Place: $2,000

  • 3rd Place: $1,000

North Shore Rotary Scholarship

For 12th-grade CHS students who are college, trade, or vocational school bound. Students must submit their completed application and essay for consideration by the NS Rotary Scholarship Committee. Students will be selected to interview with the Rotarians. The award amount varies.

  • Number of Scholarships: Three awards

  • Award Amounts: Ranging from $1,500 to $10,000

  • Submission Deadline: March 14, 2025

  • Important Note: Please do not staple applications, as each submission will be scanned.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award

Recognizes the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, too. CHS Interact Club is a Certifying Organization.
