Hello and welcome!

My name is Dawn Gibbons, and I have over 20 years of experience in the classroom helping students with exceptionalities reach their full potential. I am proud to serve as the 3rd-5th Life Skills Special Education Teacher at Hamblen Elementary, where I work with an amazing team and incredible students each day.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Educational Studies with an emphasis in Special Education from Western Governors University, where I studied Special Education EC-12 and Core Subjects EC-6. My passion lies in supporting students with diverse needs through hands-on learning, visual supports, structured routines, and a caring environment.

Our classroom is a team effort. I’m fortunate to work alongside two excellent and capable paraprofessionals—Ms. Sallie and Ms. Erika. Together, we strive to meet each student where they are and guide them on their journey toward independence, confidence, and lifelong learning.
