Marisol Castillo-Ortiz

About Me

My name is Marisol Castillo-Ortiz and I have been teaching elementary for 8 years. I currently teach Dual Language 5th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies at McGhee Elementary. I knew I wanted to become a teacher because I enjoy helping others to learn and grow. I went to the University of Houston-Downtown for my undergraduate studies and attended Lamar University to finish my graduate studies. I have a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters degree in Educational Leadership.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family by traveling, visiting new places, and trying new foods. Some of my hobbies include photography, drawing, building Legos and watching sports. I know this year will be a wonderful year and I can't wait to teach all our scholars.
