Hello, I’m Katelynn Hawkins, and I’m proud to serve the students and families of Channelview ISD. I am currently serving Channelview as the K-5 Behavior Adjustment Class Teacher. Before becoming a teacher, I served as Military Police in the United States Air Force, as well as a Correctional Officer for the state of Georgia and a County Jailor also in Georgia. These experiences taught me the value of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Mathematics and my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both of which fuel my passion for teaching and learning.

My journey in education began in 2021 as a substitute teacher, and in March 2022 I became a behavioral paraprofessional. By August 2022, I stepped into the classroom full-time, and since the 2024–2025 school year, I’ve been proud to call Channelview my professional home. Every day, I strive to create a supportive, challenging, and engaging learning environment where all students feel valued and capable of success.
