About Me

Background: I grew up in Channelview ISD. During high school, I transferred to North Shore Senior High School and graduated in 2001. After graduation, I joined the United States Air Force as a Security Forces member. I served in the military for 4 years and was honorably discharged in 2005.

Before transferring to New Horizon's Fine Art Magnet School at Crenshaw as a Behavior Support Teacher, I taught at Hamblen Elementary as a BSS Teacher for 2 years. Prior to becoming a BSS Teacher, I worked at Barrett Lee Early Childhood Center, in Channelview ISD, as an Early Childhood Special Education Inclusion Teacher. My career began at Purple Sage Elementary in Galena Park ISD at as a PPCD pre-k teacher for 3 years.

College: San Jacinto Community College - Associate's of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies

University of Houston/Clearlake - Bachelor's of Science (K-6 generalist & EC-12 special education)

Family: 6 and 3 year old girls

Mrs. Anabel Mariscal

Mrs. Mariscal graduated from North Shore High School in Galena Park ISD . Prior to transferring to New Horizon's Magnet School at Crenshaw as BSS Paraprofessional she was my para for two years at Hamblen Elementary. Mrs.Mariscal worked for 15 years in Houston Independent School District as school clerk, teacher/para substitute, worked in registration office, input attendance, enrolled students, ordered supplies and entered disciplinary paperwork. She has 4 daughters who attended Channelview ISD and 5 grandchildren. She loves working with kids and they love her. She is the perfect fit to our BSS Team!

        BSS Expectations

  1. Be Respectful: I listen when others speak to me, I use polite words and I keep my hands and feet to myself. I respect myself and everyone else with my words and actions.

  2. Honesty is Key: I practice telling the truth. Lying and secrets can hurt others and make things worse.

  3. Think Before You Act: Wait… Before I say or do anything, I think about what can happen if I do. What will be the consequences?

  4. Always Try Your Best: I promise to give my best in making the right choices. I will be proud of the effort I put into my day.

  5. Be Willing To Learn: Life is easier when I have my supplies ready. I accept that there is always more to learn and room to grow.

  6. Never Give Up: I keep pushing even when the task is difficult. I will stay positive and know that it is ok to ask for help.

  7. Be a Good Citizen: I will treat others as I want to be treated. I will do the right thing and I will be helpful to everyone around me.
