Hello, my name is Mrs. Rosalyn Carter. I am the music specialist at New Horizons Fine Arts Magnet. I have been teaching for 31 years. I began teaching in Channelview in 2006. This is my 20th year at Crenshaw. I graduated from Texas Southern University with a Bachelors of Music Education (B.Mus.ED) and a Masters of Music (M.M.) from the University of South Florida. I have taught music elementary music (K-5), intermediate general music and choir (6),middle school band and art (7-8) , and high school choir (9-12). I am certified as an All-Level Music Teacher.

I came from a very musical family and played the piano, flute, and oboe in junior high, high school, and college. I also participated in choir.

I believe that music is the best way to express your creativity, expand your imagination, develop discipline,  enjoy life and let your soul breathe. I am looking forward to teaching your child this year and sharing a wonderful musical experience.
