Welcome to our 8th grade science classroom!

My name is Mrs. Layton, and I am excited to begin my 22nd year of teaching middle school science students. Over the years, I’ve learned that the most powerful learning happens when students feel valued, engaged, and challenged. In our classroom, we focus on hands-on, student-centered experiences that spark curiosity and creativity, while also using data to guide growth and ensure every learner is supported. My goal is to create a positive and welcoming environment where students are encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and discover the world around them. I believe education is a team effort, and I look forward to partnering with both students and parents to make this year one filled with learning, exploration, and success.
