Meet the Teacher – Ms. De Leon

Welcome to my class! My name is Ms. De Leon, and I am excited to begin my 18th year in education as a bilingual/dual language teacher! Throughout my teaching career, I have had the joy of teaching students in grades 1–4, with most of my experience in 3rd grade. This is my first year at New Horizons Fine Arts Magnet, and I am thrilled to be part of this wonderful school community!

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and an EC–4 Teacher Certification in Bilingual Education. I am passionate about helping students grow academically, build confidence, and develop a love for learning in both English and Spanish. I believe every child has unique strengths and the potential to achieve great things when given the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to succeed.

I am especially excited to partner with families this year! I believe that when teachers and parents work together, we create a strong foundation for our children’s success. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with my students and their families as we learn, grow, and celebrate achievements together throughout the school year.
