The photograph shows a smiling woman standing outdoors in front of a traditional Japanese castle on a bright, pleasant day. In the foreground, a woman stands slightly right of center, facing the camera and smiling warmly with her teeth visible. She has shoulder-length, dark brown hair parted slightly off-center, with soft waves at the ends. She wears round, dark-framed eyeglasses and has a light complexion. She is dressed casually in a loose-fitting, light gray crewneck sweatshirt. A small, delicate necklace is visible around her neck. A wide, beige crossbody bag strap runs diagonally over her left shoulder, with a light-colored plastic buckle near her chest. Her arms are relaxed, and one forearm is visible near the bottom of the photograph. Behind her, filling much of the upper half of the image, stands a large, traditional Japanese castle. The castle has multiple stacked levels with white exterior walls, dark wooden accents, and gracefully curved, dark gray tiled roofs. The edges of the roofs feature decorative gold and muted green details. Each level becomes progressively smaller toward the top, creating a tall, tiered silhouette. The highest section has an ornate, dark roof with golden accents and a small decorative finial at its peak. The castle's white walls contrast with its dark rooflines, giving the building a striking, elegant appearance. At the base of the castle is a substantial stone wall made of irregularly shaped, gray and tan stones. The wall extends from the left side of the photograph toward the center, behind the woman. In the lower-left foreground, several large, rounded rocks sit beside the wall, surrounded by bright green ground cover and low plants. A few leafy trees frame the scene on both sides, with dense green foliage particularly visible along the left edge. On the right side of the photograph, a paved pedestrian walkway extends into the background. Several distant visitors are walking along it, including people wearing colorful clothing, such as red, blue, and light-colored tops. These figures are much smaller than the woman in the foreground, emphasizing the depth of the scene and the scale of the castle. Above the castle, the sky is pale blue with soft, wispy white clouds. Natural daylight illuminates the scene evenly, highlighting the woman's face, the castle's bright white walls, and the surrounding greenery without creating harsh shadows. Overall impression: The photograph captures a cheerful travel moment. The woman is the clear focal point in the foreground, while the magnificent Japanese castle, historic stonework, lush greenery, and visitors in the background establish a scenic cultural landmark as the setting. The composition feels relaxed and inviting, with the woman positioned prominently against the impressive architecture.

A Little About Me!

Hi! I’m Mrs. Owens, and I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this school year! I teach 2nd Grade Reading and English Language Arts (RELA), and I absolutely LOVE what I do!

A little about me! I was born and raised right here in Texas and earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas A&M University (Whoop! ❤️), alongside my identical twin sister! Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and our poodle, Willie. I’m also a big fan of coffee, Diet Coke, chocolate, and pretty much anything that makes a day a little sweeter! ☕🥤🍫

I am so passionate about teaching and feel incredibly lucky to spend my days learning, laughing, and growing alongside my students. My goal is to make our classroom a place where every child feels welcomed, loved, confident, and excited to learn.

I can’t wait for a year filled with lots of learning, plenty of fun, and SO much joy! ✨
