As we welcome a brand new school year, I want to take a moment to share just how excited and hopeful I am about what lies ahead for Channelview ISD. This year, we’re not only embracing new opportunities-we’re building on our proud foundation to move boldly into the future.
One of the most exciting additions to our district is the launch of our new magnet school, New Horizons. This innovative campus reflects our deep commitment to providing specialized learning experiences that prepare our students for success in a rapidly changing world. New Horizons is a Fine Arts Magnet Academy, where students will explore core academic subjects through the lens of the arts-integrating music, dance, theater, visual arts, and media into everyday learning. This approach not only nurtures creativity and self-expression, but also enhances critical thinking, collaboration, and academic engagement.
Our theme for the year is a meaningful one-#WeAreChannelview. You may recognize it as a phrase we’ve used before, and that’s intentional. It’s a reminder that no matter how much we grow, evolve, or innovate, our spirit remains the same. We are one community. We are one family. We are Channelview.
While we celebrate the new programs and new goals-we also hold on to the values and unity that have always made this district special. I am confident that, together, we will make this school year one of our best yet.
