Channelview ISD Records Request


Attention Parents/Guardians, Former Students, Eligible (Adults) Students:


  • Special Education records which have been collected by Channelview Independent School District (CVISD) related to the identification, evaluation, and educational placement, or the provision of Special Education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for a period of five years after Special Education services have ended for the student. Special Education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, moves from the district, and/or completes his or her educational program.

  • This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of CVISD’s intent to destroy the SpecialEducation records of students who were no longer receiving Special Education services and who meet the criteria laid out by Texas State LIbrary and Archives Commission. 

  • These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise by July 29th.

  • You may request these records by completing the following form:

  • Proof of identity (photo ID) will be required for records to be released.

    • You may opt to pick up in person or to be emailed

  • If you do not have access to the internet site and/or email, you may call the Special Education Records Clerk @ 281-452-3808

    • You will be required to pick up the records in person and will need to provide a valid proof of identity (Picture ID)

  • Processing requests may take up to 1 to 2 business days.
