One Million

Channelview, TX — April 24, 2023: Channelview ISD announced today that their district-wide family & community engagement projects have reached a major milestone, with a total impact of over $1 million towards the Channelview community. These initiatives, which focus on fostering strong connections with families and the local community, have been a key priority for the district over the past 20 months.

"We are thrilled to announce this major achievement in our efforts to promote family and community engagement," said CISD Superintendent Dr. Tory C. Hill. "We believe that when families and communities are involved in their children's education, it can lead to better outcomes for students."

The $1 million impact has been achieved through a variety of initiatives, including projects such as the CISD Parent University, the 2022 Back-2-School Bash, and other community service projects, collaborations with local organizations, and family engagement literacy programs. These initiatives have helped to build a strong sense of community within the district, and have fostered positive relationships between families, educators, and community members.

"Our community engagement projects have been a true team effort," said CISD Deputy Superintendent Dr. Franklin Cahuasqui . "We want to thank our families, educators, and community partners for their dedication and support in making this achievement possible."

The district plans to continue its efforts to promote family and community engagement, with a focus on expanding initiatives and reaching even more families and community members.
