Channelview ISD Superintendent Named TABSE 2026 Superintendent of the Year

February 20, 2026— The Channelview Independent School District is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Hill has been selected as the 2026 Superintendent of the Year by the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators (TABSE).

Dr. Hill was nominated by fellow superintendents across the state and chosen through a peer-driven process that evaluates leadership impact, student achievement, community engagement, and professional contributions. The honor reflects his dedication to advancing educational excellence and equity for all students.

“This recognition is a testament to Dr. Hill’s unwavering commitment to our students, staff, and community,” said Board President Alex Ybarra. “His leadership continues to strengthen our district and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.”

Dr. Hill expressed gratitude for the honor and emphasized the collaborative efforts behind the achievement.

“I am deeply humbled and grateful to be recognized by my peers,” said Superintendent Dr. Tory C. Hill. “This honor belongs to our entire Channelview ISD family. It reflects the dedication of our Board of Trustees, teachers, staff, students, and parents who work together every day to create learning environments where students feel supported, inspired, and empowered to thrive. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and excited about what lies ahead.”

This prestigious recognition highlights the strong partnership among district leadership, educators, students, and the Channelview community in advancing educational excellence.

The award will be presented during the TABSE Awards Dinner and Gala on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., at the Omni Las Colinas Hotel in Irving, Texas, in conjunction with the 2026 TABSE Conference.
