This past weekend, students from Channelview ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department competed in the Annual SkillsUSA State Competition, delivering a truly historic and record-breaking performance. Channelview Falcon students achieved an unprecedented milestone by earning three Best in Show awards for the State of Texas, along with nineteen First Place Superior blue ribbons and one Second Place Excellence ribbon—making this one of the most successful competitions in district history.

A special recognition is proudly awarded to Edgar Tristan for making Channelview history. Edgar is the first student ever to earn Best in Show at the State of Texas twice—once as a freshman and again as a senior. This extraordinary accomplishment establishes him as the most accomplished competitor in Channelview ISD history.

In addition to his competitive success, Edgar serves as the sitting President of the Channelview ISD National Technical Honor Society, representing the district with leadership, integrity, and excellence.
